Coolest sci-fi weapons

Science fiction offers a wide variety of weapons. Starting from small hand guns to huge towering mechs. I’m going to have a look at the coolest weapons in science fiction. Mind you, this is just my opinion, and if you disagree, do not run after me like a constipated rancor in Jabbas palace.

ATAT walkers (Star Wars)

A towering behemoth on the battle field, 22,5 meters tall and 20 meters in length quadrupedal All Terrain Armored Transport.  Armed with two heavy laser cannons and medium repeating blasters. When I first saw those in “Empire strikes back” walking over icy surface of Hoth, I fell in love with those machines. And I still can’t forgive George Lucas for making such awesomely designed mechs so weak…

M41-A pulse rifles (Aliens)

Perhaps the most iconic rifle in all of the sci-fi. With 99 rounds magazine, a grenade launcher, a pump action shot gun in one and fire rate of 900 rounds per minute, this was a force to be recon with. Even the most tenacious xenomorph wouldn’t stand a chance, all you had to make sure you had more magazines than there was those aliens.

Phaser (Star trek)

Perhaps the most recognizable weapon ever. A Swiss army knife of the pistols. From nonlethal stuns to be used a blow torch to cut through solid rock, this puppy could do all. A standard issue firearm in the Star Trek universe.

Proton pack (Ghostbusters)

Well, technically not really a weapon, but the best thing on the market to get rid of those pesky ghosts, with minimal collateral damage. And a safest nuclear weapon ever created, until you cross the beams. DON’T DO THAT! EVER!

Death star (Star Wars)

A space station with the size of the moon, with a laser that can blow up planets? Where can I buy it and how much will it cost me? The only draw back is that pesky exhaust port… Did I mention it can blow up planets?

Emperor Titan (Warhammer 40k)

What can I say about this battle mech? 55 meters tall, loaded to the brim with various weapons, lays waste to anything in the battle field. By far the scariest and one of the coolest weapons ever. The incarnation of kickassery.

Lightsaber (Star Wars)

Ah, the lightsaber. The most iconic and best known weapon. The weapon of choice for Jedi and Sith lords alike. Don’t pretend none of you ran around with a stick or a plastic replica acting like a Jedi. The coolest sci-fi weapon ever. Best of the best.
